Eperium joins forces with Salmon
Written by: Gertjan Schaefers, CEO Eperium Business Solutions.
Starting from 15 Dec 2016, Eperium can take pride in calling itself part of the internationally operating network of Salmon, a WPP organisation. By taking this step, Eperium can specialise even more thoroughly in the fast-growing market of digital transformation. Since its beginnings, Eperium has held a strong position in the food market. This sector is experiencing strong growth and innovations in the digital field are arriving thick and fast. By joining forces with a global market leader in the field of digital transformation, Eperium will gain access to even more knowledge and expertise in relation to design, marketing and technology.
Some time ago, we announced our ambition to expand our international activities. We then set out in search of a suitable partner to strengthen us in achieving this ambition. We soon came into contact with Salmon. Their similar business culture, strong client focus and passion for technology and innovation spoke to us directly. After several discussions and sharing our best practices, we quickly came to the conclusion that we wanted to go even further than a simple partnership. The idea to move ahead as an acquisition is now a reality.
The future is reached through innovation
Among other benefits, this step makes an innovation centre in London available to us. This makes it easier to respond to increasingly influential innovations such as Amazon Echo, which enables users to make online shopping even simpler. Particularly in the supermarket branch, but also in the fast-growing B2B market, it has become increasingly important to stay ahead of the competition.
As well as providing access to greater innovation, this step makes Eperium part of the world's largest communications services group: WPP. All of this ensures our access to a large group of specialists in various fields. For our clients, we will increasingly employ the 'Agile way of working' and we are taking a huge step forward by implementing more DevOps. DevOps combines development, quality assurance and operations with the aim of reacting to market developments quicker and more efficiently.
Eperium becomes Salmon
In the near future, we will change our name from Eperium to Salmon. Apart from the fact that our name is changing, we will continue to focus on the Benelux and the other countries in which we are active, such as the UK, India, the USA and Australia. As a part of Salmon, an international network of offices becomes available to us in London, Amsterdam, Melbourne, New Delhi and Beijing, among others, and we can offer our clients the opportunity to apply various from around the world to their cases.
Videocon launches new online and TV shopping channel based on Intershop
• New platform for next.co.in increases conversion rate by 50% and customer satisfaction by 20%
Jena, Germany, July 24, 2014 – Indian consumer electronics giant Videocon Industries Ltd. has launched a new online and TV shopping channel for its subsidiary, Next Retail India, based on the Intershop platform. Replacing an old underlying e-commerce platform with Intershop 7 has greatly improved the shop management, resulting in a 50% higher conversion rate. Repeat buying has increased by 25% and overall customer satisfaction by 20%. The shop at next.co.in went live in March. It complements a network of over 600 physical stores across India and stocks a vast range of electronics goods and home appliances, ranging from air conditioning units to washing machines.
Having heavily invested in multiple channels including kiosks, TV, mobile, offline retail and online, Next decided to move to the Intershop platform to satisfy increasing online demand. The aim was to connect and integrate the diverse channels, improve the shopping experience and greatly boost site performance, including handling sudden spikes in traffic during promotions. Intershop was chosen for its proven track record, expertise and its feature-rich, scalable solution.
The new online mega store uses advanced features of Intershop 7 such as the promotions engine and the content management system. Experienced Intershop implementation partner Eperium India implemented the complex project and developed additional functionality needed to support the Videocon´s specific teleshopping requirements.
With the e-commerce channel proving a big success, Next Retail India is now considering launching e-kiosks in its physical stores.
